Ya'll Are Crazy

A lot of you that have seen this have brought up an 'issue' that, you can't read the text on the strips. This would be a problem if, say, these were the finals. Luckily, these are not the finals, there are very early stage roughs meant to be a blue print for the final copies, where the text will actually be legitimately lettered and inked by hand.

I appreciate the concerns about the legibility of our comic, it shows you care, but seriously ya'll have some faith.

P.S. updates coming later today.

Rough Draft

Today was a lot of work, Lisa & I sat down and hammered out a lot of details about this particular story which is to be titled, DEERBORN. Here are the first drafts of the first two pages.

"We drove thirty minutes to the park, hardly spoke. more often than not, an obvious disconnect rears its head. I can't stop analyzing every moment as it passes, judging myself, studying her. Reflecting even in the midst of living, thinking about her, how she acts, how she moves. She almost seems to ignore the truth of our relationship. With…"
There is a pause.
“…With how she is, with how I am.”

The entire thing is coming along far better than either of us even conceived. It's all been such a cohesive project. If you enjoy what we've shown, please follow us here on blogspot, and add diggs as well. The more exposure we all can build for our project, the better. So let us know what you think!

Character Study

Here are two characters from the first piece in Gestures, Keiko & Evan.

Mission Statement

Gestures is a graphic compilation and collaboration between author Matthew Scott and illustrator Lisa Sterle. The idea started as a small school assignment in late september and now has evolved into a full fledged book, with a potential of 5 graphic stories. The work will be on display at The Space Convention in Columbus, Ohio in late April.

We created this blog to showcase our works, both the illustrative and writing. The book will deal with many themes throughout each story. We are both very excited to show everyone what we've been putting our hearts into, in the hopes that you will enjoy it.
